KTOB Honors Clay with Hardboot Award

Runnymede Chairman Catesby W. Clay, joined by his wife Biz, son Brutus and farm manager Martin O'Dowd, was honored by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders on April 19 with the Hardboot Breeder Award.
Given to well-established breeders who have made a mark in the Thoroughbred business, the award “pays tribute to distinctive but unsung breeders that help make up the backbone of our industry,” the event program stated.Catesby Clay, right, receives the Hardboot Breeder Award from Tim Thornton (Linda Doane photo)

Campbell Jr., who was honored with the William T. Young Humanitarian Award.
In 2009, Clay was the Honor Guest at the Thoroughbred Club of America's 78th annual Testimonial Dinner.
